This antenna is 41meters long and offset fed about 30 degrees from
one end. It gives good swr characteristics on 80,40,30,20,15,12,10 and 6.
The antenna height should be 15 Meters +/- above good conductive soil
for best vswr performance. To get good vswr over other types of ground
the height of the antenna can be altered to compensate. The reason for this
fantastic band coverage and low swr is in the specially designed 2 stage open
magnetic path (Low Loss) ferrite balun.
The OCF comes with special 2 stage balun, 2 plexiglass end insulators, pre-measured
dipole wires. The wire being supplied is not strong enough to support the balun,
I suggest using fishing line or other means to support the balun weight.
This is posted as a certain persons wife copped a swinging balun to the noggin!
The efficiency of the open magnetic path 2 stage balun is around 98.9%.
The antenna can be used as an inverted V or bent leg horizontal V shape.
We have had very good reports from users bending the middle of the long
leg at 90 degrees as to fit the antenna into a smaller back yard.
